Goodies by the Sea is a family owned business established in 2002 by Alex and Kristen Lanio. We decided to open a candy business in Newport based on an idea of making the Best Gourmet Chocolate and Caramel covered apples at a reasonable price. We also wanted to make unique chocolate confections using the freshest of ingredients. Try our "sweetest" Newport Lobster, Our Newport Sailboat, or a Newport Welcome Pineapple.

Lanio's Chocolates is our brand of confections made right here at our store. We only use the finest ingredients. Our handmade chocolates are made fresh in our kitchen on a daily basis. When you visit our store, you can smell the aroma of chocolate all around you as you watch our artisans make the confections. Our Chocolate Mold collection is the largest in the area and continually growing.

Over the years we have changed the face of the business. We have added a lot of "eye" candy to the store in terms of toys, games and unique gifts. Being the parents of six children has helped us in selecting what items are fun and educational. We are always looking to add new and exciting items. We also carry a large assortment of items that bring us back to our youth. Having candy from when we were kids goes along with the toys and games of our childhood.
